Alexandre Vialatte left his mark on the city of Clermont and the region of Auvergne by giving the newspaper "la Montagne" 900 of his short stories that ended up shaping its literary genre. The writer-translator lived and worked on the borders of the French and German societies, translating for the military, translating Franz Kafka, depicting the German society for periodicals, and editing a bilingual cross-cultural review.
